CONOR + GILLIAN WEDDING TRAILER – St PETER’S PARTICK / WESTERN HOUSE

Mar 2, 2012
simon

On the 18th of February AM Wedding Films attended their first wedding of the year, the wedding of Conor and Gillian. Their marriage, held in the stunning St. Peter’s Parish Glasgow was a celebration of religion and love and was shared by their families who had traveled from far and wide. The commitment to each other and their upholding of religious beliefs was incredibly inspiring. We must thank Father John Grory for allowing us into the church to film and for his lovely service which was enjoyed on the day.
The marriage festivities continued on to the Western House Hotel in Ayr which was only a short drive away though I’m sure the newly married couple enjoyed their time alone together to relax. The sun shone, the guests mingled and the wine flowed, calming the nerves of the speakers. And what speeches they were, whether it was the personal and touching slideshow presentation from Gillian’s Father, Conor’s grace, the best man’s humour or whether it was hearing the speeches told in the Irish tongue we all felt they were both heartfelt and entertaining. The night followed with a fantastic meal including an address to the haggis and some great music from Northern Star.
We thoroughly enjoyed the days shoot and celebrations and thank Conor and Gillian for being so accommodating. We wish all the best to the couple for the years ahead and hope they enjoy this sneak peek into their feature wedding film.

OK, so it’s been really busy in the AM Wedding Films office recently (although we can’t quite tell you yet why because its a secret) but Gregg and I have still made sometime for filming one or two events.

Our friend, the wonderful Corrine Smith has recently opened her brand new store in the heart of Kilmarnock. For the launch and to celebrate her recent VOWS award Corrine decided to have a unique styling day with hair and make up trials from Gail Rankin and Jacquie Bruin.

Here’s the short film of that event.

Wedding cake and stationery

A while back we met a couple of lovely girls at the Fabulous Wedding Show 2011 at the Hilton Grosvenor. They were exhibiting at the stand next to us showing off there fabulous cakes, which really stood out from the rest. The ‘Belles’ behind these tasty treats are Emma and Sarah who are Wedding Belles and Butterflies they had only recently started up as well so it was good to find out how they were finding things :-) They seem to have had a good year and are looking forward to 2012, we would really recommend checking them out. If cakes wasn’t enough to keep them busy they also do wedding stationery, so you can get everything to tie in together, from your invites to order of service the theme can all match even the custom designed cakes! :-)

Great girls and great service, if you are looking for a cake or stationery they have our seal of approval!

More Lovely Words

Customer service is really important to us and so with this in mind we ask our couples if they could write a little about our service on the day and anything else they woulds like to mention. Well we received a hand written letter from Natalie and Andrew which was amazingly positive and we are extremely happy they loved our service.

You were a pleasure to work with and easy to talk to. Very professional and discreet on the day. We hardly noticed you !

Your final product was excellent. It exceeded our expectations and that of our family and friends. With outstanding attention to detail, nothing was an issue. Every request was delivered to a high standard. You offer a brilliant service to couples! They wrote;

“AM Wedding Films captured every special moment of our day, in the most professional manner. They worked with our theme and the end product was perfect!”

At the beginning of this week Gregg and myself, as we always do skipped into the office with gleeful smiles and as were created by a selection of christmas cards both from couples and friends in the industry we’ve made. Well we would like to take this opportunity to thank our friends for those christmas wishes.

We we’re also very pleased to see that one christmas card used one of our images from the couples film photo book :)

Anniversary Holiday

Nov 30, 2011
simon

So you may have been browsing our blog or our films page and thought to yourself  things are slightly quiet at AM Wedding Films. Sorry about that but don’t worry i’m (Simon) back. Two weeks ago saw the one year anniversary of my wedding to my beautiful wife lynsey so of course we took some time away from our work to go away! And away we did. All the way up to inverness.

Being Scottish I am slightly ashamed to say I don’t really know much about whats up north in this beautiful country which meant this was the perfect oppertunity for us both to refresh those old childhood memories. It was a long drive up but was well worth it! Rest, relaxation and fun…

But back to work ;)

VOWS Awards 2011

Nov 11, 2011
simon

Monday the 7th of November was the date of this years VOWS Awards (Voted Outstanding Wedding Supplier) at the Hilton Glasgow. Simon and I changed into our Kilts in the office, filled our hip flasks and strolled up to the Hotel, couldent have been a better venue for us only minutes from the office :) hehe. Having just started doing weddings at the beginning of the year we weren’t eligible to be nominated this year, we went along to meet fellow suppliers and have a good time anyway, the free champagne on arrival was just a bonus :-P At our table was Bear Necessities (Mother of the bride fashion), Flutterby Bridal Hair and Carrs Loch Lomond a great bunch of people. It wasn’t until half way through the dinner when everyone was casually talking away that we realised there was a celebrity at our table :-o Andy from Bear Necessities used to be a famous wrestler in the 70′s and 80′s but is most famous for owning Hercules the Bear! Entertainment came throughout the night from Gosspal Truth Choir, Paoulo Martini, Miss Gaga and Feeva.

Unfortunately no-one at our table won an award but that didn’t dampen the spirits. Our good friend Corrine Smith won the Bridal Accessories award for the 4th year in a row!!! Well done her, definitely check out her designs if you are looking for some accessories for your big day.

You can see a full list of the winners and nominees here. We had a great night and look forward to attending next year, hopefully with a nomination :) (If any of our couples want to nominate us click this link we would be very grateful).

Finally the amazing LookLook photobooth company was there for the party goers to dress up and play with their props, it goes with out saying Simon and I had a go! (results are below lol) Simon actually had these guys at his wedding last year as well and they were brilliant, we would recommend having them at your wedding. Have a nosiey at the photos from the awards night here if you want.

Filming A Fashion Short

Oct 20, 2011
simon

We know this isn’t exactly wedding material however we like posting some interesting projects we’ve been working on from time to time to show you guys and gals.

So a couple of weeks ago Gregg and I were asked by In The Company Of Wolves, an award winning events company based in Glasgow, if we would be interested in filming a 70′s horror inspired fashion short for a charity event held at Glasgow’s Sub Club on October 26th. Since every so often we like to involve ourselves in unique projects we jumped at the chanced to shoot this. Here’s a short promo for the film, we will post the full thing and some footage from the event later.
